Who I am...What the heck I'm doin'

Allow me to introduce myself, thankfully over the screen because I am sitting here in my sweats, Ugg boots, a naked face and of course, a large messy bun on top of my head. I am Jenna. The first thing I will usually share with you about myself is that I am a mom of 3 (ages 5, 3 & almost 2). Usually I will tell you how precious they are..and actually today is one of those days! Some days I won't say much because, well, it's for the best, and others days I am gritting my teeth and shaking my head (and I'm going to pretend right now that my voice always remains calm and quiet..)  I love my kids. They ARE absolutely amazing and a precious blessing from God. As a (by day) stay-at-home mama I experience a range of emotions due to my children. I'm pretty sure in one hour of time my emotional roller coaster hits every peak, curve, and lull. At the end of the day, though, it has always been an amazing ride.  These kids teach me more than I ever thought possible. Mostly it is life lessons that usually come as a big slap in the face to me. I have learned that when you have six little eyes watching and mimicking your every move, you really have to step up your game. I pray that God helps mold me into the mama that these sweet kiddos need.

I have a husband of 8 years who is my best friend (at times ;)), who is my family's provider and can best be described as my teammate. We also challenge each other often, and both cause each other some of that teeth grittin' and head shakin' (as most spouses do), but we are in this life together. When we get a moment's peace, there is nothing like snuggling up and doing absolutely nothing...just the two of us. He is my biggest supporter and encourager and always has my back.

I feel so blessed to be right where I am, doing exactly what I am doing. I would not trade it for the world. In my spare time, when I am not cooking, cleaning, laundering, bathing kids, disciplining (you know, just keeping 3 others alive, no big deal), I am a photographer. I LOVE spending time with families and capturing priceless moments that they will be able to hang on to forever with photos. I love new opportunity, new locations to photograph and new faces. I also treasure those who have allowed me to continue to photograph their families throughout these 3 years I have been in business. Another passion of mine (finally to what the blog is all about!!) is decorating my home. I have a love for all things pretty, cute, rustic, vintage, delicate and unique. My home is a big mod podge of things we have been given, found or bought at resale/garage sales. We do have a few items that do not fall into those categories(I mean, come on, who can resist some Hobby Lobby finds??) ,but overall most things have come from a memorable place.

Where this blog comes into play with Jenna Blair Photography is that I am challenging myself to incorporate more photos into my everyday decor. Not only do I have a kajillion photos from just the past 5 years of my kids being around, but I have photos from our family's past that I would love to display in my home. What is a better way to keep those memories alive than having them where you, your children, and your guests can see them and talk about them?  I am now on the hunt for unique ways to display photos. I will be blogging my finds, whether they be cool Pinterest ideas, great deals from photo printing websites, or crazy ideas straight out of my head. So enjoy! Get out those photos you've been wanting to display for so long and be ready to have a home filled with love and wonderful memories!
